The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Duolingo, which is an online language learning platform that has more than 300 million users, on the inclusion of Scottish Gaelic in the platform, and which will be available on iOS and Android applications as well as the Duolingo website; recognises the importance of keeping Scottish Gaelic alive, as the language is estimated to have less than 60,000 native speakers in Scotland; happily welcomes the growing interest in the language from people around the world who are fascinated with Scottish history and culture, and encourages other online language learning platforms to include Scottish Gaelic.
