Occupational Therapy Week, Small Change, Big Impact
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes Occupational Therapy Week 2019, which runs from 4 to 10 November, and the Small Change, Big Impact campaign, which celebrates the interventions that occupational therapists make, and the big difference that they can make to a person’s life; encourages occupational therapists to share their stories on the Occupational Therapy 2019 section of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists’ website; notes that occupation therapy offers practical support to people with physical and mental illnesses, long-term conditions and/or those experiencing the effects of ageing; acknowledges that they take a whole-person approach to mental and physical health and play an important role in spanning the gap between health and social care by working across a range of care settings, and values the important role that occupational therapists play in preventing hospital admissions, reducing delayed discharge and lowering waiting times.
