The motion

That the Parliament notes Sue Ryder’s call for further funding to expand its Dee View Court facility, which is currently Scotland’s only specialist neurological centre; understands that £3.1 million of the £3.9 million target has already been raised, with builders entering the final stages of refurbishment; notes that the expansion will ensure round-the-clock care for vulnerable people with serious conditions such as Huntington’s disease, stroke and motor neurone disease, and will provide rooms and apartments with hi-tech hoists, specially-designed beds and wheelchair access to the facility’s gardens; recognises that this follows Sue Ryder’s success at the Celebrate Aberdeen Awards on 14 September 2019, when the Dee View Appeal was awarded Campaign of the Year, and joins the charity’s staff and volunteers in encouraging people to contribute to this commendable appeal to help it reach its goal.
