Reece McEwan, Top-ranked MMA Competitor in the UK and Ireland
The motion
That the Parliament recognises Reece McEwan, a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter from Greenock, on becoming the top-ranked MMA competitor in the UK and Ireland; notes that Reece has earned this accolade just two years after taking up the sport full-time; notes that the 24-year-old is the best amateur bantamweight in the UK, putting him ahead of 523 fighters in his weight division; commends Reece for how quickly he has progressed, and appreciates that he attributes his success to hard work and determination to succeed; believes that Reece is an inspiration to other young people in Inverclyde in terms of pursuing their sporting dreams, as he also helps train the next generation of local fighters, and wishes him all the best for the future.
