Inver Racers, Social Media Champions
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Inver Racers on competing in the world final of the Greenpower Challenge at Silverstone and receiving the Social Media Award for promoting its efforts online and success in gaining sponsorship; notes that four Inverclyde Academy pupils built and raced their own F24 race car against teams from across the world, having won the Scottish heats; recognises that this project between Inverclyde Academy, West College Scotland and Developing the Young Workforce has helped improve the boys’ confidence and taught them new skills through attending engineering workshops at the College’s Greenock campus; commends the pupils’ families, teachers and lecturers for supporting them throughout the programme; believes that Chris, David, Christopher and Kyle are an inspiration to other young people in their school and across Inverclyde, and wishes them well for the future as they continue with their studies at the school and college.
