Orkney FC Wins the Jock Mackay Memorial Cup

That the Parliament congratulates Orkney FC on winning the Jock Mackay Memorial Cup after defeating St Duthus 3-1 in the final, which took place on 9 November 2019 at the Recreation Grounds, Invergordon; understands that this is the second time that the club has won this competition, after victory against the same opponents in 2017; congratulates the goalscorers, Callan Jessiman and Liam Delday; notes that Liam was named as the sponsor's man of the match and that the club's captain, Wayne Kirkness, was named the supporters' man of the match, but recognises that victory was thanks to the performance of the entire squad; acknowledges the contribution made by St Duthus to an exciting and hard-fought game; thanks Invergordon for hosting the final and putting on a great spectacle; notes that this cup success has helped maintain an excellent start to the season for Orkney, with the club currently undefeated in the North Caledonian Football League; commends the team's manager, Charlie Alway, and his coaching team on the work they have done to develop the squad; thanks the club's sponsors for their continued support, without which the players would be unable to compete each week in league and cup competitions, and wishes its management and staff all the best for the remainder of the season and beyond.
