Motion · S5M-19817 · 11 Nov 2019
Welcoming Scottish Interfaith Week
The motion
That the Parliament notes that Scottish Interfaith Week takes place from 10 to 17 November 2019; considers that faiths and people of faith have a hugely important part to play in modern Scotland; believes that the majority of people of faith get on well with each other, however acknowledges the challenges faced when they do not; appreciates that this is a matter of regret and sadness and demonstrates the need for building good interfaith and community relations; commends the work of Interfaith Scotland, local interfaith groups and faith communities across Scotland, in seeking to promote dialogue and mutual understanding between people of different faiths and philosophies, and wishes them well, particularly during Scottish Interfaith Week.
