Clydebank Café for People with Young Onset Dementia
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the opening of a new café in Clydebank for people under 65 with young onset dementia (YOD); recognises that it is a part of a series of cafés being set up by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, which has an estimated 400 people in its area who are living with the condition; notes that the cafés are designed to support people in facing the particular challenges that YOD brings, including those related to work and finances; believes that there is a need to offer greater assistance to people with YOD as current dementia care chiefly focuses on older people, and sends its best wishes to everyone involved with the Clydebank and other cafés.
