Kirkintilloch Man Cycles Around the World
The motion
That the Parliament commends Mark Kennedy, a former pupil of Oxgang Primary and Kirkintilloch High schools, for cycling around the world to raise money for the charity, Children with Cancer and Leukaemia Advice and Support for Parents (CCLASP); notes that Mark is undertaking this cycling challenge with a friend he met at Heriot-Watt University, Joe Stachan, and that together they are the "Clueless Travellers"; congratulates them on having raised almost £2,000 so far, which is significant progress towards their target of £5,000; acknowledges that the funds raised will support CCLASP in providing specialist support to families across Scotland affected by childhood cancer or leukaemia, including granting children’s wishes and offering transport to appointments and advice; understands that the pair have now passed the 8,000-mile mark, recently arriving in Australia, and have at least another 11,000 miles ahead of them before they reach Scotland again, and wishes them all the very best with this incredible physical feat.
