All in Edinburgh

That the Parliament recognises the impact of the innovative All in Edinburgh supported employment consortium, delivered in partnership between ENABLE Scotland, Into Work, The Action Group and Forth Sector, and funded by the City of Edinburgh Council; acknowledges that the consortium supports people who have a learning disability, physical disability, mental health problem, autism spectrum disorder, visual impairment or hearing loss to get and keep jobs in the city; notes that, since 2014, All in Edinburgh has supported over 3,000 disabled people into the local jobs market; further notes that its additional welfare rights service has supported 650 people over the lifetime of the project to date to access almost £1.9 million in direct financial gains for job seekers; is aware that only 45.4% of disabled people of working age are in work, compared with 81.2% of their non-disabled peers, which is a gap of 35.8%; acknowledges that the Scottish Government has set a target to halve the disability employment gap by 2038 in its 2018 publication, A Fairer Scotland for Disabled People – Employment Action Plan; considers that innovative collaborations such as All in Edinburgh are making a significant contribution to the achievement of this aim, and wishes the All in Edinburgh consortium every continued success as it supports even more people into the local jobs market in Edinburgh.
