No Home for Domestic Abuse - Breaking the Cycle
The motion
That the Parliament notes that West Dunbartonshire Community Planning Partnership will hold a community conference at Clydebank Town Hall on 14 November 2019 to discuss the challenges faced when dealing with domestic abuse and to investigate ways to break the cycle of domestic violence; understands that, during the event, which is titled No Home for Domestic Abuse – Breaking the Cycle, attendees will hear from Police Scotland, West Dunbartonshire’s Health and Social Care Partnership and senior officers behind West Dunbartonshire Council’s innovative No Home for Domestic Abuse policy of zero tolerance of domestic violence within local authority properties; recognises that the policy, which was introduced in June 2019, ensures that victims have immediate access to practical help and specialist legal assistance; commends all involved with West Dunbartonshire Community Planning Partnership for their proactive approach to dealing with domestic abuse, and wishes attendees an informative and productive conference.
