Forth Valley Woman Raises £12,000 for Pancreatic Cancer UK
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Jenny Bairner from Forth Valley on raising £12,000 for charity; understands that she lost her mother to pancreatic cancer in 2018 and decided to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK; acknowledges that her exceptional fundraising campaign has culminated in her completing the New York Marathon on 3 November 2019, beating her personal best time by seven minutes, and where she represented the UK in the Parade of Nations Opening Ceremony in Central Park; understands that approximately 9,800 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each year, with just 1% surviving for 10 years, 3% for more than five years and 21% for one year or more, and commends Jenny for her outstanding efforts.
