New Health Improvement Role for Lesley Nish
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Lesley Nish on her new role as the Health Improvement Lead for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC); acknowledges Lesley's efforts to develop child safety strategies and unintentional injury prevention strategies and implementation plans, which have been overseen by a NHSGGC-wide steering group; commends the success of her Straight off, Straight away campaign, which is a hair straightener burns prevention programme that was launched in 2009 in partnership with parents, carers, children and families teams, RoSPA, the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service; notes that Lesley was an original member of the Cross Party Group on Accident Prevention and Safety Awareness and first Scottish recipient of RoSPA’s Archangel Award; thanks Lesley for her contributions to accident prevention, and wishes her the best in her new endeavours at NHSGGC.
