The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Lothian Electric Machines Ltd (Lemac), which is based in Haddington, on winning the Environmental Impact award at the Midlothian and East Lothian Chamber of Commerce Business Awards; understands that the company, which manufactures stairlifts, won the award for creating a new dedicated recycling centre and developing a method of processing stairlifts, which allows old parts to be used in new products; notes that these improvements have helped to create a lift that has a carbon footprint that is 81% lower than an equivalent lift made with new components; commends Lemac on its commitment to environmentally-friendly practices, and wishes the company all the best.
