Award-winning Company, Hey Girls, Fights Period Poverty
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Celia Hodson on winning the Inspirational Woman of the Year award at the recent Business Woman Scotland Awards in Glasgow; recognises that Celia also won the Outstanding Women of Scotland 2019 award at the Saltire Society Scotland Awards in October; understands that Celia is the founder of the Musselburgh-based company, Hey Girls; acknowledges that the organisation plays a vital part in stopping period poverty throughout the UK; welcomes that the company has created six jobs in Musselburgh for local residents since August; appreciates that Hey Girls has donated over 6.2 million period products to young women across the country; notes that the products are environmentally friendly, as they are biodegradable and 100% organic; considers that the work that Hey Girls does for young women is phenomenal and an asset to not only the constituency but the whole country, and wishes Celia and her team all the best with the company in the future.
