Nun Finishes Degree at 79
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Carmelite nun, Sister Mary of the Holy Spirit, on receiving her Master’s degree in theology from Saint Patrick’s College, Maynooth, Ireland at age 79; notes that Sister Mary is based at the Carmelite Monastery in Dysart; understands that she graduated with 200 other students who received academic awards in theology, philosophy and education, and commends Sister Mary for her efforts in showing that age is no barrier when it comes to lifelong learning.
