Cottage Family Centre Christmas Appeal

That the Parliament congratulates the Cottage Family Centre on raising over a third of its appeal target of £32,000 in just one week; notes that the Centre raises money and other items for families in need, especially at Christmas when the weather is cold; understands that the Christmas appeal includes donations of clothes and toys but that the centre prefers cash donations as the money donated gets allocated towards food and heat for people in need; further understands that community members are being urged to keep donating as the number of families needing support is set to increase from last year; notes that, in 2018, the Centre had 1,077 referrals to the appeal and that, this year, it is expecting around 1,300 referrals; thanks Pauline Buchan, the Centre manager, for her dedication, and further thanks all involved with the Cottage Family Centre and those who have donated to such a good cause.
