Brenna Collie, Young Photography Award Winner
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates 16-year-old Brenna Collie on being named the Young Photography Winner at the 2019 Scottish Portrait Awards; understands that Brenna, who has had treatment for a stroke, won with her entry, Trapped, in which she aimed to capture the night that she became unwell; notes that this was part of her Higher Photography portfolio, which she used to document her recovery; commends Brenna for her voluntary work with the Stroke Association to raise awareness that, although this condition can happen to anyone of any age, with the right treatment, care and support, it is possible to succeed in rebuilding lives; applauds Brenna on her success, and wishes her well.
