Rachel Smith, Raising Awareness of Meningitis
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Rachel Smith on her efforts in raising awareness of meningitis in memory of her brother, Gregor, who was just 13 when he died within hours of falling ill in 2013; notes that Rachel will run a half-marathon as part of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival in aid of Meningitis Now to help prevent others from going through what she and her family went through; understands that details of Gregor’s Forever Fund can be found at the website, gregor-smith.muchloved.com, which provides a place where people can donate, read Gregor’s story and keep his memory alive, and thanks Rachel for her efforts and dedication to raising awareness about what can be a deadly condition.
