AbilityNet Increases Technology Accessibility
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates AbilityNet on its work over the last 20 years helping older people and those with additional support needs to use technology; recognises the positive impact of accessible technology and acknowledges the vital work that AbilityNet volunteers do through their UK Helpline and free home visits to set up devices, give guidance on usage and find personalised solutions to technical problems experienced by disabled people; notes its creative solutions to improve accessibility, such as installing voice control software and setting up access to online banking, postal services and shopping for people with mobility issues, and believes that the work that AbilityNet is doing across the UK is incredibly valuable and meaningful.
