Outcast Barbell Sanctuary Raises £3,000 for Kidney Kids Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament commends a group of powerlifting champions from Outcast Barbell Sanctuary in Clydebank for raising £3,000 for Kidney Kids Scotland; notes that the members of the gym, who recently returned from the World Powerlifting Championships in Slovakia with 13 medals between them, were inspired by gym owner Andrew Cairney's daughter, Simone, to stage a dead-lift competition in aid of the charity; understands that both Simone, who is four years old, and her seven-times world champion father live with duplex kidneys; believes that Andrew is an inspiring character within the powerlifting community, and wishes him, his daughter and all those involved with this impressive fundraising event well in all future endeavours.
