The Platform Girls Mountain Biking Group, Kirkcaldy
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Platform Girls, which is a Kirkcaldy-based mountain biking group, on being shortlisted in the Community Project of the Year category at the Scottish Mountain Bike Awards; notes that this category recognises amazing work that is delivered outside of formal club structures; understands that the Platform Girls project began in 2017 to boost cycling opportunities for girls and young women in Fife; notes that the group focuses on improving health and wellbeing and tackling poverty and inequalities, which it does by working to remove physical and financial barriers to participation; commends the group for its dedication to promoting the fair treatment of young women and girls, and wishes it success at the awards.
