New Active Schools Training Programme
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the new partnership between SAMH and sportscotland, which aims to help young people protect their mental health through physical activity and sport; understands that 400 Active Schools coordinators, including in Clydebank, will benefit from a new training programme that will teach practical ways of monitoring and managing young people’s mental health; acknowledges that 6,425 pupils from Clydebank took part in Active Schools sessions over the last year; recognises that early intervention can make a positive difference to the lives of people struggling with their mental health, and commends all involved in this initiative.
