Reading Force Event to Support Helensburgh and Lomond's Military Families
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the special event in Helensburgh that has been organised by Reading Force for children of military families from around Helensburgh and Lomond; understands that it includes free signed books for each family in addition to a presentation by the award-winning author Vivian French about her books and how she became an author; notes that this event is part of Reading Force’s initiative to help encourage military families to read and talk about books together as a way of improving communication and relationships; recognises that this initiative has seen great success at encouraging and developing communication within families, especially during the difficulties of deployment, and wishes all of the families participating in Reading Force the best in their further reading adventures.
