John Irvine's 150k in 30 Days Challenge to Tackle Marfan Syndrome
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates John Irvine, who is from Inverkeithing, on completing his 150k in 30 days running challenge to support a friend with, and raise awareness of, Marfan Syndrome (MFS), which is a rare genetic disorder that affects the body's connective tissues; understands that John, who is 23-stone, challenged himself to run 5k every day to help his friend, Kate Stevenson, raising £1,550; believes that this will also be used towards trying to find a cure for the condition; commends John for pushing his body to its limits for such a worthy cause; sends its best wishes to John and Kate, and wishes them continued and future success in helping with the fight against MFS.
