Azuma Trains Make Maiden Aberdeen Journey

That the Parliament notes the maiden voyage of LNER’s Azuma train from Aberdeen to London King’s Cross on 26 November 2019, stopping at Stonehaven, Montrose, Arbroath, Dundee, Leuchars, Kirkcaldy and Inverkeithing for the first time; understands that the bi-mode Azuma trains, which will eventually replace LNER’s diesel trains, will run between Aberdeen and London King’s Cross three times a day, with a fourth service between Aberdeen and Leeds on weekdays; acknowledges that the Azuma trains have extra legroom and extra luggage space to make the seven-hour journey to London more comfortable; recognises the importance of the direct LNER rail link between Aberdeen and London and other destinations in England, and welcomes the commitment that LNER has displayed to this route by running its flagship Azuma trains to and from north east Scotland.
