Kathleen Orr Recognised at the St Andrew’s First Aid Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Kathleen Orr, who is the founder of Jayden’s Rainbow, on receiving the Douglas Bremner Special Commendation Award at St Andrew’s First Aid Awards 2019; notes that this award recognises people for outstanding achievements in first aid; acknowledges that, through Jayden’s Rainbow, which she set up in memory of her son, Kathleen and her family have ensured that every primary and secondary school in Inverclyde has a public access defibrillator, with St Andrew’s First Aid provided a further 30 to be installed across the community; considers that Kathleen’s campaign to raise awareness of the importance of having defibrillators registered and placed in accessible locations will ultimately lead to lives being saved; believes that Kathleen is an inspiration to all and that her dedication is admirable, and wishes her well with her continued efforts to get more public access defibrillators installed and registered.
