Vanda Nicholls of the Greenock Air Cadets Recognised for Long Service
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Vanda Nicholls, who is the Commanding Officer (CO) of the Greenock Air Cadets, on being awarded a Commandant Air Cadets Certificate in recognition of her 22 years as a member of staff; notes that Vanda joined the combined cadet force when she was an S6 pupil and that, after joining her local branch, she was subsequently invited to move to 49F Greenock Squadron, where, just over a year later, she took over as CO; acknowledges that the "F" after its number indicates that Greenock is one of the founder 50 squadrons that were formed in 1941; believes that the Greenock group helps young people gain new skills and boosts their confidence, and thanks Vanda and all other volunteers in the Inverclyde area who willingly give up their time to support young people in the community.
