West College Scotland Success at College Development Network Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates West College Scotland (WCS) on winning two accolades at 2019’s College Development Network Awards; notes that the awards scheme attracted a record 104 entries and that the college was highly commended for its health-promoting PROSPER initiative, which engages staff and students in a cross-campus programme of activities comprising of mental health awareness training, workshops on healthy eating and exercise, and lunchtime yoga classes; understands that the college's hair and beauty team was commended in the essential skills category for its work in setting up the WCS with SCVLPTVR Skills Academy in the West End of Glasgow, which gives students the opportunity to gain work experience; acknowledges the time and effort that college staff have put in to gain this national recognition, and wishes the college further success in its educational endeavours.
