Chris Walks the UK
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the achievements of Christian Lewis and his dog, Jet, who are walking the UK coastline to raise money for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity; notes that Chris started his journey in Swansea in August 2017 with no money, and relies on donations from the public to support his trek; further notes that SSAFA provides lifelong support to people like Chris who have served in the armed forces and have at times struggled to cope in civilian life, including some in Shetland; congratulates Chris on reaching Unst, the most northerly part of the UK, on 15 December 2019, and for raising more than £85,000 on the way, and wishes him well on his return journey south.
