BEMIS Scotland and St Andrew's Fair Saturday
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates BEMIS Scotland and the diverse ethnic and cultural minority communities of Scotland that participated in the international celebration of St Andrew's Fair Saturday on 30 November 2019; notes that the multicultural celebration included events such as the Gypsy Traveller Gathering in Aberdeen, the Scottish Arab Women's St Andrew's Day in Glasgow, Syrians Celebrate St Andrew's Day in Dumfries, Africa Futures St Andrew's Day in Govan and the football event, the St Andrew’s Multi-Cultural Cup in Glasgow, and believes that this reflects the diversity of modern Scotland and exemplifies a human rights-based approach to creating an inclusive and responsive contemporary national identity that responds to the multifarious nature of the cultural identities and community dynamics.
