Families Outside
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the charity, Families Outside; understands that the charity works with HMP Edinburgh, the Scottish Prison Service and the creative agency, APS Group, to allow female prisoners to send personalised gifts to their children at Christmas; acknowledges that imprisonment of a household member is one of 10 adverse childhood experiences known to have a significant impact on children’s long-term health and wellbeing, school attainment and later-life experiences and that the charity aims to help a prisoner feel more connected to their child at Christmas; congratulates the charity on its second year of operation, and wishes it all the best for the future.
