Grangemouth's Zetland Park
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the awards of £928,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund towards the enhancement of Zetland Park in Grangemouth by improving its facilities and landscaping, and £50,000 from sportscotland to develop a bicycle pump track; notes the park’s historical significance in the area and the importance of this space for the town's residents and visitors to enjoy; recognises the efforts of the community group, the Friends of Zetland Park, in campaigning for change to the area, which it believes is important in remembering Grangemouth’s rich history; acknowledges that activities and events will be held to complement the regeneration of the park, which will allow opportunities for community groups to get involved in the project; welcomes what it sees as the important contribution of others to the regeneration of the park; notes that £2 million has been received in total from Ineos, BP, the Falkirk Environment Trust, Historic Environment Scotland, the War Memorials Trust and community fundraising led by the Rotary Club of Grangemouth; congratulates Falkirk Council, the Falkirk Community Trust, the Friends of Zetland Park and everyone involved in obtaining this funding, and looks forward to progress with the project for the benefit of the community.
