Recognising the Impact of VSA on Young People
The motion
That the Parliament commends the impact of VSA, an Aberdeen-based social care charity, on the lives of young people in the north east; understands that recent figures have highlighted that, over the last year, VSA has provided one-to-one counselling to 225 children, support to 311 young people with additional support needs, and arranged a total of 2,332 visits through its dedicated call centre to help children affected by family breakdowns; notes that VSA also provides school-based counselling services at Hazlehead, Northfield and St Machar academies; commends the rightful recognition given to VSA’s work through six Scottish Qualification Authority awards won by the charity, and wishes the management, staff, volunteers and service users every success in the future.
