That the Parliament welcomes CalMac Ferries’ announcement to offer a bilingual customer care service in English and Gaelic; notes that this has been accomplished through the establishment of a new customer care centre in Stornoway; understands that this has brought six essential jobs to the town and helped to grow the Gaelic economy in Na h-Eileanan an Iar, where a majority of the population are Gaelic speakers; recognises that this will contribute to the aims of the National Gaelic Language Plan and improve the public service regarding the language used with its users, and commends the company for its commitment to the language.
