Irvine Primary Pupils' Disney Musical
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Lawthorn Primary School in Irvine on being one of five selected by Scottish Opera to take part in the Disney Musicals in Schools programme; understands that P7 pupils will work with two music and drama artists from the Scottish Opera Outreach and Education Department in weekly workshops where they will perform songs from The Lion King before a final performance at Glasgow’s Theatre Royal in May 2020; further understands that this is the first time that the programme has been rolled out in Scotland, with the initiative first being launched 10 years ago in New York elementary schools; commends all the pupils taking part, and wishes them every success with their performance.
