Money Raised for Peeblesshire Youth Trust
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Peeblesshire Youth Trust on being named the charity partner of the Peebles Hogmanay Torchlight Procession; understands that the charity will receive £1,300, which was raised by the event that saw 3,500 people carry 700 torches through Peebles and along the banks of the River Tweed; notes that Peeblesshire Youth Trust supports local children aged 10 to 14 and encourages them to develop self-confidence and emotional wellbeing through a wide range of events and activities; commends the organisers of the Torchlight Procession and the volunteers of Peeblesshire Youth Trust for their hard work, and wishes them all the best for the future.
