Skills Development Scotland in East Dunbartonshire
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Skills Development Scotland (SDS) in East Dunbartonshire on being recognised in what it considers a very positive report on its Career Information, Advice and Guidance service and Career Management Skills in an Education Scotland report published on 10 January 2020; notes that, in particular, the report outlined how the team has exceeded national performance levels in several areas, including the number of young people entering a positive destination on leaving school and the performance level for all three key measures relating to Next Steps clients; further notes that the report states the team has been instrumental in closing the participation gap between the most and least deprived areas in East Dunbartonshire; understands that the usage of the My World of Work programme has increased by 31% in the last 12 month, and recognises the hard work being carried out consistently by the SDS East Dunbartonshire team and how it is helping to improves people’s lives, society and the economy.
