UN Ruling to be Issued on Rohingya Genocide
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges that the United Nations will issue a ruling on 23 January 2020 regarding the brutal campaign of genocide by Myanmar against the Rohingya Muslims; is appalled at reports that, following the crackdown, which began in 2017, 700,000 people fled the country, at least 10,000 were killed and that the government in Myanmar did nothing to stop the military from carrying out this violence; praises The Gambia for filing legal action against what it sees as this atrocity and violation of the Genocide Convention, and hopes that the ruling will bring justice and some peace to the survivors.
