Dr Catriona Stewart OBE
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Dr Catriona Stewart, who co-founded the Scottish Women's Autism Network (SWAN), on being appointed an OBE for advocating the rights and needs of autistic women; acknowledges that Dr Stewart, who is on a three-year secondment from Alloa-based Scottish Autism, was named in The Queen's New Year's Honours list; understands that she launched the charity after completing her PhD on the experiences of anxiety for girls with Asperger syndrome; notes that her organisation now provides support to females across Scotland, and commends Dr Stewart for her excellent and dedicated work.
