Breast Cancer Ball in Greenock Raises over £20,000
The motion
That the Parliament recognises that Greenock Town Hall was recently transformed into a pink paradise for a local family’s sixth Breast Cancer Ball, which raised over £20,000; understands that the event is organised every year by Chris Thomson in memory of his mum, Christine, who died from the condition 10 years ago; appreciates that the family have raised £88,000 in total for Breast Cancer Care through this annual event; believes that initiatives such as this play a huge part in helping pay toward the work of the charity; acknowledges that this work includes supporting people living with the condition as well as funding research into finding cures, and commends Chris and his family for working so hard to raise as much money as possible for what it considers to be Scotland’s leading breast cancer charity.
