Introduction of Drinks Covers at Siberia Bar and Hotel
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the decision by Siberia Bar and Hotel in Belmont Street, Aberdeen, to introduce drinks covers to help protect customers from drink spiking; understands that Siberia is thought to be the first bar in Aberdeen to introduce the covers; commends the campaign group, Girls Against Spiking, which created them; notes that the covers also contain contact details for third sector organisations such as the Samaritans for people in urgent need of help; recognises that this has been welcomed by Drinkaware and Inspire Aberdeen, and believes that all bars and establishments should follow Siberia’s example to ensure the safety of people in the night-time economy.
