Linnvale Eco Warriors Win Environmental Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates pupils and staff at Linnvale Primary School in Clydebank on receiving their fifth environmental award; understands that the school was given the award for its commitment to integrating eco-learning into the curriculum and ensuring that pupils understand how to care for the environment; notes that recent work by pupils has included carrying out litter, transport and wildlife surveys, planting wildflowers in school grounds and local areas, litter picks and working with Scottish Natural Heritage on projects in greenspace areas; recognises the work of Miss Guthrie and the eco committee who work hard to organise topics, surveys and outdoor learning opportunities to make sure that everyone in the school is involved; notes that the school's eco committee is now carrying out an environmental survey in preparation for its next Green Flag application and that its efforts have been praised by Eco Schools Scotland, and wishes the school every success with its initiatives.
