Keep the Victoria Derbyshire Show on the Air
The motion
That the Parliament condemns the BBC’s decision to cancel the award-winning news and current affairs programme, Victoria Derbyshire, from BBC Two and the BBC News Channel as part of a cost-cutting exercise; notes that the show has won numerous awards, including a BAFTA, in recognition of it breaking many new and interesting stories; acknowledges in particular what it sees as the fantastic work done by it in exposing the transvaginal and hernia mesh scandal; believes that it is an example of broadcasting excellence, with high-quality research, production and presentation; considers this move to cancel the programme to be a poor decision, and calls on the BBC to reverse it.
