The motion

That the Parliament thanks the family, staff and friends of the Iron Horse Bar, which is in West Nile Street, Glasgow, for their tremendous work over many years providing a traditional Glasgow pub experience for locals and visitors alike; laments that the pub will close at the end of January 2020 due to the expiration of its lease; notes that, for many years, it has acted as a base for Scotland fans, in particular the West of Scotland Tartan Army; recognises that this led to it regularly hosting visiting international fans, who socialised with Tartan Army members and formed many lasting bonds of friendship; celebrates the efforts made by the pub to present the best aspects of Glaswegian and Scottish life to all customers, particular the international football fans; understands that the staff and customers have been long standing supporters of the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal, which it believes has made a hugely positive impact across the world by making charitable donations to children’s charities in every country that the Scotland team plays, and wishes all associated with the Iron Horse every success in their future endeavours, whatever these might be.
