Rosslyn Chapel Attracts Tourism to Midlothian
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Rosslyn Chapel on attracting approximately 181,500 visitors to Midlothian in 2019; acknowledges that the chapel was featured in Channel 5’s travel programme, Secret Scotland, and consequently the site saw its busiest spring season ever, leading to an increase of 3,750 visitors from 2018; recognises the importance of the site, which has been a destination of gathering for centuries and supports the growth and preservation of Scottish cultural and historical landmarks; hopes to see the tourism industry continue to thrive in Midlothian in 2020, and further hopes that this remarkable historical site continues to be appreciated.
