10 Years of the West Harris Trust Buy-out

That the Parliament congratulates the West Harris Trust on 10 years of community land ownership, which represented the first buy-out of a government-owned estate by a community trust; commends the Trust on what it sees as its significant achievements over the last decade, including the construction of Talla na Mara, which is a community enterprise hub, and housing for young families; understands that there has been a 20% increase in the area's population since the buy-out, reversing a historic and long-standing decline; reiterates what it considers are the wide-ranging economic, social and environmental benefits of community-led enterprise and land ownership, and wishes the Trust continued success.
