The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the launch by CHAS, in partnership with NHS Forth Valley, of a community pharmacy network in Sauchie, Alloa, to help support babies, children and young people aged up to 21 who have life-threatening conditions, and provide support to their families; believes that it is the first of its kind in the UK and will be piloted until December 2020; understands that it will offer timely access to specialist medicines and paediatric palliative care and advice that will aim to capitalise on the clinical expertise of the area's community pharmacists, including their accessibility and reach across the Forth Valley area, to improve access to specialist medicines and palliative care advice, including for parents and healthcare professionals; notes that CHAS hopes to spread the network across Scotland and explore how community and primary care-based pharmacists can provide a direct patient-facing medicines review and symptom control service, and wishes everyone involved with this excellent initiative every success.
