The motion

That the Parliament commends the efforts of officers from the Nigg Community Policing Team and pupils from Charleston School in Cove, Aberdeen, in challenging inappropriate driving in the area; understands that, through Operation Speedwatch, officers warned speeding drivers about their driving habits, especially around busy premises with children; recognises the valuable contribution of the pupils, who displayed their posters to drivers with messages such as “Twenty is Plenty”; notes that representatives from Aberdeen City Council’s education department also assisted with the project, and recognises the need to tackle unsafe driving and, as demonstrated through this project, the key role children and young people can also play in raising awareness about these important issues.
