Orkney Schools Celebrate Gold Sports Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Kirkwall Grammar School and Sanday Junior High School on recently being awarded Gold School Sports awards by sportscotland; understands that the awards recognise schools that continually improve physical education in their curriculum and create more opportunities for young people to get involved in extracurricular sport; recognises the many benefits to young people of getting involved with school sport, including a healthier lifestyle, the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills, and have fun with their friends; considers that the awards are an excellent initiative for encouraging schools to work hard to develop sporting opportunities for their students; congratulates all of the staff and pupils at Kirkwall Grammar School and Sanday Junior High School on their impressive efforts in meeting the criteria for a gold award, and wishes them the very best for another successful sporting year ahead.
